I've noticed my gums have been bleeding after I brush. What does this mean?

Bleeding gums are the initial sign of periodontal (gum) disease, and can be devastating to your teeth and gums if left untreated. If you have noticed your gums bleeding after brushing, or that they have become swollen or inflamed it is imperative you book an appointment with us at Mount Annan Dental to prevent the condition from worsening.

I maintain a good oral health routine but still suffer from bad breath, what can I do?

Maintaining a good oral health regime is the best start to fighting oral bacteria that reside in the mouth which cause bad breath. By brushing and flossing day and night you remove these bacteria from your teeth and gums, but you may have forgotten about your tongue. You may want to try a tongue scraper or using the back of your toothbrush if possible to remove these excess bacteria.

When should I bring my child in for their first visit?

It is important to bring your child in for their first dental visit when their first tooth erupts or by their first birthday, whichever comes first. This allows us to track the development of their teeth and jaw and recommend any early intervention.
